The conversation of the ‘holy social grail’ has shifted from a focus of acquiring lots of fans to figuring out how to engage those fans with content that stirs more sharing and dialogue within the online community. That said, I believe it’s STILL very important to find ways to increase your fanbase – and here’s a great suggestion to do it the right way.
While it’s tempting to acquire any and all fans, I have to warn those looking to go this route via buying fans or in other quick ways, that it just isn’t worth the money or effort. Yes, it’s true you’ll see your community grow quickly, but it will be to the detriment of your community by acquiring fans that aren’t in your target audience.
